 Abstract:  The Dr. Andrew Wallace Collection is the accumulation of his research documents associated with Historical Archaeology, working notes for Dr. Wallace’s dissertation and the expansion of infrastructure into the American West in the nineteenth century. The collection is of particularly use in reference material for military exploration, Native American relations, deportation and hostilities, railroad and telegraph development, and state development of the American Northwest and Southwest. The inclusive dates of the dissertation working notes and the expansion of infrastructure collections are from 1826 to 1864 with the majority being in the 1850’s to early 1860’s. The date range of Dr. Wallace’s Historical Archaeology Class is from the 1970’s to 1995. The inclusive dates of the entire collection are from 1839 to 1995 respectively. The Southwestern Bicentennial Celebration materials documents the planning of the region's events and activities during the celebration of America's first 200 years as a nation.
