Historical NoteCreated in 1928, the Idylwilde Park subdivision (now the Idylwilde Historic District) is roughly bounded by 11th Street, 12th Street, Weldon Avenue, and Fairmount Avenue. It consists of approximately 40 homes constructed in the 1920s and 1930s in the Period Revival, English Tudor, Spanish Colonial Revival, and Bungalow styles. Each home backs onto a private, 3-acre park including a swimming pool open only to residents. Scope and Content NoteThis collection houses 62 photographs showing the Idylwilde Park neighborhood in Phoenix, Arizona. Among the subjects depicted are the Park's 1929 opening, the swimming pool, and the 1929 Miss Idylwilde Beautiful, Ercelle A. Caldwell.
