Biographical NoteGlenn Reynolds "Slim" Ellison, cowboy, storyteller and author, was born to Pearl Grafton and Lourinda Frances (Price) Ellison in Globe, Arizona on July 19, 1891 and lived almost his entire life in Gila County. Ellison served at various periods as a cowboy, trail driver, homestead rancher, and camp cook in central Arizona and received little formal education. He was the nephew of Arizona's first governor, George W. P. Hunt. Glenn Ellison died in Globe, Arizona in January of 1983. Scope and Content NoteThe Glenn R. "Slim" Ellison Collection includes manuscripts, correspondence, and printed matter dating from 1965 to 1981. The majority of the collection is comprised of manuscripts and typescripts of Ellison's published and unpublished works. The collection is divided into two series.
