Womack, was born in Brownwood, Texas in 1901, and moved to Arizona with her family in 1912. Jewel married Herman Womack and moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1920. Shortly after arriving in Prescott, their son Lester (1920-1992) was born. Lester would become a National Monument Ranger as an adult serving at the Saguaro and Grand Canyon National Parks. Jewel Womack died at the Yavapai Community Hospital June 27, 1973. Mrs. Womack had one sister, Mrs. Frankie Johnson, and two grandchildren. Scope and ContentThe Womack Family Photos collection is made up of photographs covering the Herman and Jewel Womack family activities for the years 1900 to 1965, in Prescott, Arizona and the surrounding areas. The materials found within this collection were personally donated by Lester Womack to the Sharlot Hall Museum on May 31, 1981, accession number 81.185. The materials were processed and placed into a standardized DACS compliant archival arrangement and organization scheme. The materials were originally cataloged using a non-standardized organization scheme in Photo Box 30, Folders A1 & 2, and Photo Box 33, Folders 1-9. A new DACS compliant number was assigned to the collection SHM PC-12. No additional accruals are expected. Preferred Citation
