Biographical NoteFranciscan priest; Father President of the Sonoran missions, 1781-1783; headed the ecclesiastical counteroffensive to Bishop Antonio de los Reyes' plan for the San Carlos "custodia." This was a new administrative district that would institute reforms in the Sonoran mission communities.
