Historical Note

The Arizona News Service publishes the Arizona Capitol Times, and it was founded by Ned Creighton in 1906. The Creigton family owned the Capitol Times until 2005 when Dolan Media Inc. purchased it. The Arizona News Service still publishes materials, and their offices are located on 1835 W. Adams. St in Phoenix, Arizona.

Scope and Content Note

The collection is primarily composed of 40 years of "Yellow Sheets" which were Arizona's first political tip sheet. They were printed 3 days per week. They began in 1906 and reported on Arizona's government and regulatory matters, as well as political news and gossip. They were called yellow sheets because they were printed on yellow onionskin paper.
