Biographical Note
Patricia A. (Mueller) Fullinwider was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 21, 1940. She married Simon Pendelton "Si" Fullinwider (1933-2015) in 1963 and the copule relocated to Arizona in 1967. In Tempe, Pat Fullinwider served on the Tempe Union High School Board and led the construction of Corona del Sol, the first solar-powered high school in America. In 1974 and 1976, Fullinwider ran for Congress against Rep. John Rhodes. Both campaigns were unsuccessful: she trailed Rhodes by 8.8% in 1974 and 16.6% in 1976. She went on to work as the Head of the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures and for the City of Phoenix, where she supervised such large construction projects as the Okemah Service Center. She also earned her MPA from Arizona State University in 1980. Fullinwider retired in 2001 and moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to be near her daughter, Teresa (Fullinwider) Bailey, and family. She died on November 22, 2011 at the age of 70.
