Biographical Note

Margaret Lydia Klann was born to Ernest Hugo and Frieda Wilhelmina (Lafrentz) Klann in Chicago, Illinois on December 30, 1911. She came to Arizona State University in 1945 as an archery instructor and taught until 1976. Klann also founded the National Archery Association College Division, helped to form the Arizona State Archery Association (ASAA), and served as an U.S. Olympic Archery Committee member and on the NAA Board of Governors. She died in Arizona on September 22, 2000.

This collection houses correspondence, subject files, archery and family photographs, printed matter regarding physical education, archery competition records, framed certificates, and plaques documenting Margaret Klann's career teaching archery.
