Frederick W. Sisson was a local Flagstaff, Arizona businessman who is notable for having managed the Arizona Lumber and Timber Company. He was born in Illinois in 1862 and went to Knox College where he graduated with honors. After working in Peoria, Illinois for a couple of years, Sisson moved to Flagstaff and became treasurer for the Riordan family company, the Arizona Lumber and Timber and Company. In 1888 he married Mary Willcox. According to various accounts, Sisson was one of the foremost and best loved citizens of Flagstaff as well as respected throughout the west for his intelligence, honesty, and business acumen. He died in Los Angeles of ptomaine poisoning in 1908.
