Biographical Note
Ms, Virginia Hash is an attorney in Phoenix and comes from a family of early Flagstaff pioneers.
Her grandfather, CM. Funston, was the founder of the Coconino Sun. Her mother, Mary Funston Hash,
was in the 2nd graduating class of Northern Arizona Normal School in 1902.
Scope and Content Note
The manuscript collection includes newspaper articles, photographs, and correspondence involving
the Funston/Hash families. It also includes cloth items: doilies, baby clothes, handkerchiefs, and
one quilt. There is some miscellaneous jewelry in the collection, including early Northern Arizona
Normal School class pins; also includes one Kodak camera with case.
The photograph collection contains black-and-white pictures of various Havasupai people and
dwellings, as well as photos of Virginia hash herself.

This photograph collection contains 225 black-and-white pictures of various Havasupai people and
dwellings, as well as photos of Virginia hash herself.
