Biographical NoteJohn T. Maynard was a member of the Third Brigade Ambulance Corps, Abercrombie Division, in the Union Army. Originally from upstate New York, his letters to his sister tell the story of his life at the battle front in Virginia and his hospitalization in Washington, DC.
