Typescript letters, bound, with holograph notes by Dr. D. W. Melick. Nine letters to Dr. Melick, chiefly concerning research on Mormonism and the leaders of the Mormon church, but also opinions on other religions and politics, and some autobiographical reminiscences. Also included are two photographs, one of Birney and one of his son; a list of Birney's books; and two other letters to Dr. Melick, one from Mrs. Birney.
