Biographical NoteMethodist clergyman and Arizona pioneer. Wingar moved to Prescott in 1877, and later lived in Florence, Pinal, Globe, and Tempe. He was active in establishing a school at the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Scope and Content NoteRemininscences, treatise, and petition relating to early Arizona topics. Includes 24-page typescript of Wingar's reminiscences, and his daughter, Alice B. Gregg's account of an encounter with Apaches. Also includes a treatise entitled "Abolition of the Indian Factory System", author unknown, and a petition to the Secretary of the Interior regarding construction of the Arizona canal on the Salt River, author unknown.
