Biographical NoteFranciscan missionary; chaplain of the Anza Expedition which left Horcasitas, Sonora, Sept. 29, 1775, and resulted in the founding of San Francisco the following March. Scope and Content NoteHolograph record of three marriages performed by Father Pedro Font at Mission San Xavier del Bac on October 26, 1775, while chaplain of the expedition under the command of Juan Bautista de Anza. Those married were Ignacio de Higuera to Maria Michaela Bojorques, Tiburcio Vasquez to Maria Antonia Bojorques, and Gregorio Antonio Sandoval to Maria Dolores Ontiveros. Holograph manuscript in Spanish, accompanied by English translation, notes relating to the participants, and certification form of the Historical Records Survey of the U.S. Works Progress Administration.
