Inscription inside the manuscript states: "The play, In Old Kentucky, was written by Charles T. Dazey ... It was produced by Jacob [Lett] and was performed on the regular stage for 27 consecutive seasons..."
Bound autograph manuscript written in ink, in the vernacular. The play is about a Kentucky mountain girl who wins the heart of a young aristocrat by racing a horse. A note on the title page indicates that the manuscript is "corrected and amended by the author."
