This production, with Sothern in the title role, was first presented at the Garden Theatre, New York on September 17, 1900. Also included in the cast are William Harris, Arthur R. Lawrence, Charlotte Deane, and Virginia Harned. Scope and Content NoteOriginal typescript, with handwritten notes, of Edward Hugh Sothern's acting version of Hamlet. Notations include stage manager's cues and floorplans. Included on the title page of each act is the statement, "This manuscript is the property of E.H. Sothern, Daly's Theatre, New York City."
