Biographical NoteMexican-born Father José-María Pérez Llera served at San Ignacio de Caborica, and was Father President of the Sonoran missions from 1830-1837. Father Faustino Gonzáles was a Spanish Franciscan at San Diego del Pitiquito Mission from 1832-1839. Scope and Content NotePhotocopies of typed transcriptions of 76 documents concerned with the political and religious interactions in the Pimería Alta, during the dissolution of the Franciscan mission system. Various civil authorities signed the documents from offices in different locations, but most often in Hermosillo or Arizpe. Documents 13, 39, 44, and 63 discuss Tucson; document 11 is concerned with the Tumacacori Mission.
