Spanish Jesuit who arrived in Sonora in 1748, served mainly at the San Luis Gonzaga Mission at Bacadéhuachi, and died on the forced march of the Jesuit expulsion.
Photocopies of typed transcriptions of 37 letters from Padre Jesús Manual Aguirre to Padre Provincial Francisco Ceballos. All but two of the letters are sent from Bocadéhuachi; they are reports from the period when Aguirre was serving as visitador and visitador general.
The sources were compiled by Father Kieran McCarty, a priest and scholar associated with the Academy of Franciscan History, Washington, D.C.
