He has received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drama Production (1967), a Master of Arts degree in Drama Production with an emphasis in costume design (1969), and a Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design (1979) - all from the University of Arizona. Most of Damron's career has been spent in wardrobe supervision and costume. For eight seasons (1992-2000), he was wardrobe supervisor for the Los Angeles Opera. Damon also worked as a wardrobe supervisor and set costumer for theatre productions in Los Angeles and Las Vegas; numerous television shows including "Pryor's Place" and "The Young and the Restless;" prominent award ceremonies including the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, People's Choice Awards; and American Film Institute Salutes to Lilian Gish and Gene Kelly. In addition, Damron has taught at the University of Redlands, University of Arizona, and National Music Camp in Interlochen, Michigan.

In addition to fifteen scrapbooks, the collection includes Damron’s resume from various points in his career and loose performance programs. Notable programs include “Up With People,” “The Boys from Syracuse,” “Third Annual Elk’s Minstrels,” and “Les grands ballets canadiens.” Also included are seasonal programs for various ballet and theatre companies, as well as venues such as Centennial Hall.
