Biographical Note

Rebecca Cramer is a writer and educator from Kansas City, Missouri. She is the author of three mystery novels set in southern Arizona that feature Linda Bluenight, an ex-forensic anthropologist of Cherokee descent. Cramer holds Master's degrees in both Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Iowa. Her research interests include Native American studies and the cultural history of the Hispanic southwest. She was a professor of anthropology at Johnson Community College in Overland Park, Kansas, from 1974 to 2005 and she has been a visiting scholar at the University of Arizona. Cramer enjoys visiting the southern Arizona desert.


Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of materials documenting the literary career of Rebecca Cramer. The bulk of the material consists of two manuscripts, research materials, and publicity materials for her three Linda Bluenight novels, Mission to Sonora (1998), The View from Frog Mountain (2000), and High Stakes at San Xavier (2008), as well as other writing.
