| Frank Springer was a noted attorney for the Maxwell Land Grant Company, and later, president. He also represented the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Company. This collection includes materials related to Lew Wallace Springer, Frank's father. The collection also includes a privately printed book titled "Legal, Literary, and Scientific Activities of Frank Springer" which includes notes, memoranda, photographs, and newspaper clippings bound amongst its pages. | Bibliophile Society materials, including correspondence, publications, facsimiles, receipts, and a small scrapbook. The materials in this collection were collected by Henry Howard Harper (1871-1953). Harper was a founding member of the Bibliophile Society, which aimed to promote fine book making. They also published books, bound books, and did other book-related work for members. Books published by the group were for "members only" and they capped membership at 500 individuals. Harper sat as the first, and only, Treasurer, participating from 1901 until the demise of the group in the 1930s. | |||||||||||

He worked at several archives including as the first archivist for Oberlin College. After retiring he returned to Tucson in 1987. He wrote several books about Oberlin College history and Tucson history. He died February 20, 2016. | |||||||||||

| This series includes several manuscripts authored by Gene Fowler (March 8, 1890-July 2, 1960). Fowler worked as a journalist, author, and screenwriter. He had three children with his wife, Agnes Hubbard, including son Gene Fowler Jr. who was a noted Hollywood film editor. Fowler worked at the New York Daily Mirror, New York Evening Journal, New York American, The Morning Telegraph, and was also a newspaper syndication manager for other clients. His third novel, The Great Mouthpiece, is about William J. Fallon, an attorney, and from this novel, he became a Hollywood screenwriter. He worked on several infamous projects, including the 1935 adaptation of Call of the Wild and the 1941 reimagining of Billy the Kid. Fowler passed away in 1960 in Los Angeles after a heart attack. | |||||||||||

| The collection contains handwritten and typescript drafts of Peter O'Crotty's stories and screenplays. O'Crotty was born in Canada. He started working as a newspaper reported when he was 16, working in Hollywood for several studios, and later at the Arizona Daily Star (1950s). During World War II he served in the marines, later writing a television series titled "Once a Marine." He wrote several screenplays, including the materials within this collection. | Hugo O'Conor, lieutenant colonel, governor of Texas between 1768-1770. Born in Dublin and a redhead, he was known to some Native Americans as the "red captain." In 1770, O'Conor was appointed commanding inspector of the inland presidios. | |||||||||||

atenderá a las person que envíe para el reconocimiento de los hierros y las

Fort Huachuca was the largest training center for African American soldiers during the war, housing the 92nd and 93rd Infantry Divisions. The photos document uniformed soldiers in groups and alone with various weapons, automobiles, and visiting civilians. | |||||||||||
