Its activities include actively researching and collecting information about Arizona's folk communities, generating outreach programs, and coordinating folk activities throughout the state. The compact disks located in the Archives have been collected since the early 1990s, and are mostly commercial recordings of various musicians, poets, and musical groups from Mexico and the southwestern United States. Collection activity is ongoing.
