	Abstract:	Black Sparrow Press was a small independent publishing house focused on avant-garde literature. Produced by John and Barbara Martin, with the help of typographer and printer Graham Mackintosh, the Press was responsible for drawing attention to Charles Bukowski and his literary work. Each published title includes correspondence from authors, layout matter and artwork, ephemera, photographs, manuscripts, proofs, and first editions. Black Sparrow Press published a number of American and English authors including Diane Wakoski, Joyce Carol Oates, Robert Creeley, Charles Olson, John Fante, Gerard Malanga, Wanda Coleman, and acquired publication rights for Wyndham Lewis and D. H. Lawrence.

The purpose of the trial was to honor the will of James Kidd that left money to fund scientific research that provided proof of a human soul that leaves the body at the time of death. 	Abstract:	Consists of photocopies of chiefly correspondence, 1908-1950, of Franciscan missionary and historian Father Bonaventure Oblasser, O.F.M. during his appointments, mainly to the Papago Indians (now known as Tohono O'odham), in Arizona. Included also are photographs that consist of images created by various Franciscan friars of the Saint Barbara Providence of the Order of Franciscan Friars depicting scenes from various Indian reservations in Arizona and Southern California. This collection also includes papers of Franciscan missionary, Nicholas Perschl (1887-1969), relating to his missionary work to the Papago Indians.

	Abstract:	Photographs and negatives, primarily prints, glass plate, nitrate, and acetate negatives, but also a few travel stereographs, cabinet cards, cartes-de-visite, and daguerreotypes, mostly relating to the Overson family of St. Johns, Arizona, along with some of townspeople, buildings, and special occasions. There are a few portraits of people taken by Charles Jarvis, circa 1890 to 1910. More were taken by his daughter, Margaret Jarvis Overson, circa 1920 to 1960. A small amount were taken by other photographers and by her adult children, especially Eva M. Overson Tanner. The images include mostly unidentified people, family, student class groups, school athletic teams, and a few celebrations and street scenes. Photographs also include Mormon schools, school groups, church groups and church leaders.

	Abstract:	Las Posadas collection contains material relating to Tucson, Arizona’s Carrillo Elementary School’s long tradition of re-enacting Mary and Joseph’s pilgrimage from Nazareth to Bethlehem in a procession seeking shelter or posada. This event was based on an old Mexican yuletide custom that was first adopted by Miss Marguerite Collier in 1937 to build students’ pride in their Hispanic heritage, and has since then become an annual celebration for all its students and the community.

A small segment of records detail intercollegiate athletic organizations and newspaper clippings of women’s sports competitions under the leadership of athletics administrator, Mary Roby, from 1959-1981.
