This publication was a key platform for collating scholarship on Mayan ceramics. Also included in the papers are items such as Gifford's journal of his 1952 trip to Tarahumara settlements in Mexico, extensive ceramic typology research files, publication materials for his study of the Barton Ramie site in Belize, the records of a joint project with Watson Smith on Awatovi corrugated ceramics, and extensive correspondence files from scholars around the world involved in pottery research.
