research division of the Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory at the
University of Arizona. The observatory began to receive visitors in 1923, when the
first building and telescope were installed. In addition to the observational and
theoretical research conducted by astronomers, the scientists at the Steward
Observatory also continue to play a critical role in significant space astronomy
missions, such as the Hubble Space Telescope. This collection contains a guestbook
for the Steward Observatory with entries from 1923 to 2016. Notable entries include
the 30th United States President Calvin Coolidge and astronomers Vera Rubin, Vesto
                M. Slipher, and Frank Drake. | | | | Repository: | University of Arizona Libraries, Special Collections | | | | Similar Items: | Find Similar Guides |
