 Abstract:  A bound volume of 219 pages written on re-used paper, comprising pottery notes from sites in the Prayer Rock District of northeastern Arizona. Notes are organized by site and by room or context within each site. Sites covered include Broken Flute Cave (Rooms 6-14), Obelisk Cave, Pocket Cave, Cave I (Rooms 1-3), Cave II (Rooms 1-4), Cave IV, Cave VI, Cave VII, Cave VIII, Cave IX, Cave X, Cave XI, Cave XII, and Open Sites. The material contents of the sites are listed by catalogue number (see A-0126) and by provenience. Pages 21 and 62 are out of sequence: page 21 contains a description of pottery from Room 9, Broken Flute Cave, and page 62 contains a description of pottery from Cave VIII. The volume is organized in two sections: a catalogue of specimens by provenience (covering Broken Flute Cave, Obelisk Cave, Caves I-XII and additional named sites in the Prayer Rock area, and various open sites) and a catalogue of specimens by material and provenience (covering wood, wool, bone, stone, pottery, vegetable, baskets and basket splints, sandals, human hair, feather, hide, pigments, horn, skeletons, shell, reed, cordage, cord bags, and miscellaneous objects). Pages 38 to 78 contain writing on the reverse side that is the draft of a paper prepared for the Carnegie Institution and bears no relation to the catalogue; the paper was reused for the catalogue.  Abstract:  A bound volume of 108 pages, mostly written or typed on re-used paper, comprising Earl Morris's notes on miscellaneous artifacts from the Prayer Rock District. Artifacts are catalogued individually by number and described; drawings by Robert Burgh appear on undersize pages. The volume includes two catalogue number series: items in the 29.1 series may be from the 1929 Bernheimer Expedition (catalogue numbers for reconnaissance trips were preceded by the year); items in the 350000 series are from an unknown source loaned to Earl Morris for study purposes. The drawing on page 76 is unnumbered but the illustration matches the description of item 350436; the drawing on page 81 is labeled No. 350466 but no such item is listed and it matches the description of item 350446. The volume concludes with three supplementary sections: work sheets by Elizabeth Morris (p. 102), notes on possible source of artifacts dated March 27, 1957 by E. Morris (p. 105), notes on unpublished pottery, Pit III (p. 107), and notes on possible source of artifacts dated October 6, 1957 by N. A. R. (p. 108). The volume includes correspondence between Earl Morris and Alexander Wetmore, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution (July 1946), regarding identification of dog fur used in the sashes; a shipping invoice from the Smithsonian; handwritten notes on data requirements; a chart showing details of sashes 846A–F; descriptions of plaiting techniques; a guide to measurements; sections on braids, lashing, and thread-length calculations; and detailed analyses of each individual sash specimen.
