The volume is organized in two sections: a catalogue of specimens by provenience (covering Broken Flute Cave, Obelisk Cave, Caves I-XII and additional named sites in the Prayer Rock area, and various open sites) and a catalogue of specimens by material and provenience (covering wood, wool, bone, stone, pottery, vegetable, baskets and basket splints, sandals, human hair, feather, hide, pigments, horn, skeletons, shell, reed, cordage, cord bags, and miscellaneous objects). Pages 38 to 78 contain writing on the reverse side that is the draft of a paper prepared for the Carnegie Institution and bears no relation to the catalogue; the paper was reused for the catalogue.
