 Abstract:  The Jay Rochlin oral history project audio cassettes measure 1 linear foot and contain oral histories conducted by Rochlin with 16 African-American and 31 Mexican-American University of Arizona alumni and alumnae recorded on 58 compact audio cassettes. The collection consists of audio interviews, correspondence, oral history transcripts, and research files. These oral histories were collected by Jay Rochlin as research data for his 1995 Higher Education Ph.D dissertation: Conversations with Ricardo's daughter: The minority experience at the University of Arizona between 1925 and 1994 from a critical race theory perspective. The dissertation was later published under the title Race and Class on Campus: Conversations with Ricardo’s Daughter by the University of Arizona Press in 1997.

These include workshops and administrative documents from the Arizona Human Rights Fund, newspaper articles and clippings spanning from 1983 to 2004, information and ephemera on the Jim Toevs congressional campaign in 1991, materials from the Be True to Yourself Film Campaign in 1991, and a report on diversity and queer presence at the U of A (circa 1990). This collection is part of the Arizona Queer Archives (AQA), a community focused archive through the Institute for LGBT Studies at the University of Arizona. It was transferred to Special Collections in 2020.

 Abstract:  This photograph album consists primarily of snapshots showing student life at Arizona State Teachers College (now Arizona State University) from 1930 to 1931, including views of campus and such aspects of student life as track meets, football games, homecomings, Alpha Hall dormitory for men, and students. Also included are pictures taken during car trips around the state showing landscapes and scenes in Bisbee, Prescott, Flagstaff, Tucson, and Ray. A few photographs of Ray were taken during the 1920s and depict members of the Bartell family and their friends.

 Abstract:  Papers from Lura Kinsey school days, both as a student and later as a teacher. Kinsey was born in Flagstaff in 1891. She attended Emerson High School and graduated from the Northern Arizona Normal School in 1912. She earned both a BA and an MA from the University of Arizona, Tucson. Her teaching career spanned 47 years with the Flagstaff, Arizona school system. In 1932 she became principal of her high school alma mater, and in 1957 saw a local school named after her. Kinsey died in Flagstaff, 1965.
