Their eighth child, John Casey Riggs (1874-1943), was the family’s historian and creator of the bulk of the papers. The collection includes Our El Dorado, a biographical book written by John C. Riggs and his daughter, Jeanette Riggs Roll. He acquired lands, sheep, cattle, and mining interests in Arizona, where he owned about 400,000 acres. for the Bright Angel Trail and Grand Canyon National Park Ranger. The collection
includes material about the Lauzon Family and their continued interest in mining and
ranching after Bert's death in 1951. This later material was created by Bert's son,
