Mission, and completed on December 1, 1793. It was apparently sent first to his guardian superior at the Querétaro College, Father Juan Francisco
Rivera, because Rivera added his signature, dated January 21, 1794. Barbastro's 48-page report first discusses conditions in Sonora: the geography,
the missions and towns, the temporal state, the spiritual state, and Indian industries. The most substantial section follows and concerns the
