 Abstract:  This collection consists primarily of correspondence, legislative materials, hearing transcripts, subject files, reports, grant files, plaques, photographs, schedules, appointment records, news clippings, and other materials documenting Ed Pastor's service in the U.S. House of Representatives. Among the subjects covered are the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, the Committee on Appropriations, the national budget, national resources, national parks, the Democratic Caucus, trade relations with China, and the impeachment proceedings against President Clinton. This collection has not been processed in full and can be viewed only by appointment. Contact Archives and Special Collections for more information.

 Abstract:  The Alianza Hispano Americana was founded in Tucson, Arizona in 1894 as a mutual aid benefit society for Mexicans in the Arizona territory. The collection features insurance documents that serve as legal evidence of financial transactions among members and within lodges. The materials include membership files containing legal and insurance records, lodge correspondence, administrative files like meeting minutes and financial papers, and printed materials. The materials are mostly written in Spanish. The Alianza was known to advocate for Mexican-American education and civil rights.
