Includes handwritten poem by John Foord; photocopy of the Stieglitz family genealogy; a photocopy of a play by Hugh Lofting; photocopy of a published biography of Julius Oscar Stieglitz (1867 1937); two periodicals with articles about Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe; photographs of members of the Small family, Werner family, Foord family, Stieglitz family, and Fred Terry, an actor; and four photographs from the personal collection of Herbert Small.

 Abstract:  Printed materials and photographic materials, ca. 1930-1980, of William Holgers (1904-1981), California photographer. Most of the clippings, negatives, and photographs relate to Edward and Charis Weston. Of special note are photographs documenting the 1940 U.S. Camera Photographic Forum in Yosemite, a workshop, taught by Edward Weston and Ansel Adams. Holgers’ short memoir describing the workshop is also included.

 Title:  The Edward Weston Archive 1870-1958 ead

 Abstract:  Nearly all periods of Weston's life and work are represented in the archive. Little documentation exists, however, regarding his childhood (1886-1906), early years in California (1906-1923), or life after he was stricken with Parkinson's disease (1947-1958). The archive is particularly rich in documentation of his years in Mexico (1923-1926), and years after he returned to California (1927-1940s). It also contains significant examples of Weston's writing. Many of his letters to his sons are included, as are the original pages for his daybooks. These pages, amounting to 1000 in number, range from undated fragments in an immature hand to clearly dated bold ink scrawls.

 Abstract:  This archive contains materials related to the Mexican photography of Esther Baum Born (1902-1987), architect and photographer. Born traveled in Mexico during the mid- to late-1930s. Her work was first published in Architectural Record (April 1937) and expanded into the influential book The New Architecture in Mexico (New York: William Morrow and Co., 1937). This collection includes her Mexico travel notebook containing the contact information for the many Mexican architects documented in the book, scrapbooks of vintage Mexican postcards, photographs, and original negatives.

 Abstract:  Photographs, 1950-1995 (bulk 1970-1989). This collection is comprised of the photographs of Warren H. Anderson. The bulk of the material relates to his dual careers as a professor of art education at the University of Arizona and as an artist but it also includes family photographs and photographs from his travels. The collection consists primarily of slides but also included are print photographs, negatives, 8 mm films, printed notes and class handouts, and articles. It also contains several large photographs, some mounted, and an original photo montage, “Travel on Gravel with Ethyl”.
