 Abstract:  A bound volume of 67 pages comprising 26 items of correspondence between Isabel Kelly and Harold Gladwin (HSG) relating to the excavation of the Hodges Site (AZ AA:12:18 ASM), also known as Gravel Pit Ruin, in the Tucson Basin, Arizona. The correspondence spans November 1936 through May 1938 and documents in detail the progress of the excavation, including stratigraphy and ceramic analysis, house types, cremation counts, interpretation of pottery phases, and plans for post-excavation work and report preparation. Also included are a sketch of wall types, a count of decorated sherds from Stratitest C, a 20-page carbon copy of the Progress Report for 1937, and a 5-page carbon copy of sherd counts for Houses 59, 80, 81, and 83. Letters are addressed also to Edith Sangster. A bound volume of this material is filed under call number 913.791 H689 v.6.  Abstract:  A bound volume of 280 numbered pages comprising the original manuscript by Isabel T. Kelly on pottery from the Hodges Site (AZ AA:12:18 ASM), a Hohokam site in the Tucson Basin, Pima County, Arizona. The manuscript covers decorated wares of the Pioneer, Colonial, and Sedentary periods, including Sweetwater Red-on-Grey, Snaketown Red-on-Brown, Canada del Oro Red-on-Brown, Rillito Red-on-Brown, Picacho Red-on-Brown, and Rincon Red-on-Brown, with figures illustrating vessel forms, designs, sherds, and interior and exterior decoration. Items marked with an asterisk (*) have been added by James Officer in his study of the manuscript; pages marked "changes to Snaketown Plates" are also Officer's work and are not part of the original manuscript. Many pages contain handwritten notes on the back bearing no relation to the text. Other portions of this document are found in A-0107 and A-0114. Contents include Tanque Verde Red-on-Brown (decorated wares of the Classic Period); a phase distribution chart of decorated vessel forms in the Gila Basin and at Tucson; a discussion comparing Hohokam and Mogollon decorated wares; H. S. Gladwin's suggested changes (handwritten); Redware by period and phase (Pioneer through Classic and unplaced); Plainware by period and phase (Pioneer through Classic); Remarks; Tradeware and the occurrence of intrusive wares; Miscellaneous Pottery Manufactures including human and animal figurines; Other Pottery Manufactures; and References Cited.  Abstract:  A bound volume of 219 pages written on re-used paper, comprising pottery notes from sites in the Prayer Rock District of northeastern Arizona. Notes are organized by site and by room or context within each site. Sites covered include Broken Flute Cave (Rooms 6-14), Obelisk Cave, Pocket Cave, Cave I (Rooms 1-3), Cave II (Rooms 1-4), Cave IV, Cave VI, Cave VII, Cave VIII, Cave IX, Cave X, Cave XI, Cave XII, and Open Sites. The material contents of the sites are listed by catalogue number (see A-0126) and by provenience. Pages 21 and 62 are out of sequence: page 21 contains a description of pottery from Room 9, Broken Flute Cave, and page 62 contains a description of pottery from Cave VIII. The material on the reverse of the pages consists of a draft for a site report and miscellaneous notes. Table of contents and pagination were added by J.  Abstract:  A bound volume of 71 sheets of original photographs and drawings illustrating artifact types and house plans from the Hodges Site (AZ AA:12:18 ASM), a Hohokam site in the Tucson Basin, Pima County, Arizona. Materials include 71 numbered plates covering stone objects, shell artifacts, ceramics (including Snaketown, Canada del Oro, Rillito, Rincon, and Tanque Verde Red-on-Brown types), figurines, worked sherds, original drawings of shell and stone objects, and architectural plans for 23 houses. Three unnumbered photographs of three-quarter grooved axes and mauls are also present. Plate numbers were assigned in accordance with I. Kelly's report and J. Officer's revised summary. Assignment of plate numbers and table of contents were added by J. Barr, Arizona State Museum Library, July 3, 1968.
