 Abstract:  The Karan English Papers make up an extensive collection of documents covering the business and issues of Northern Arizona's Coconino County, of the state of Arizona, and of the U.S. federal government from 1981 to 1994. These papers include correspondence, reports, articles, newsletters, fact sheets, speeches, appointment books, daily schedules, position papers, press releases, meeting agendas and minutes, campaign materials, elections data, voting records, budget records, office memoranda, and numerous legislative issues files. This manuscript collection is arranged in five series which run chronologically and follow English's political progression from Coconino County Supervisor, to Representative in the Arizona House, to member of the Arizona Senate, and finally to Congresswoman in the United States House of Representatives. The fifth series is a collection of news clippings covering numerous topics of local and national significance during her years in the U.S. House.

 Abstract:  Alta Vista Garden Club was organized and became a Federated Garden Club starting in 1951. The Club was initially started in order to stimulate interest in and knowledge of the different forms of gardening, to aid in the protection of native trees, plants and wildlife and to promote general civic improvements in the City of Prescott. These records consists of organization history, copies of news clippings regarding the Alta Vista Garden Club, a club docent’s project notebook, local garden center flyers or handouts and scrapbooks of the Club from 1963-1971 and 1980-1981.

 Abstract:  Documents and photographs, 1888-1972 (bulk 1900-1953). This collection is comprised of correspondence, financial and legal documents, diaries, and photographs relating to the lives of Louise Foucar Marshall and her husband Tom Marshall. The bulk of the material consists of her personal correspondence and memorabilia, property records, official documents and correspondence relating to the Marshall Charitable Foundation, which they founded in 1930, and documents relating to Tom's death and Louise's trial for his murder in 1931. The collection also includes a large number of photographs and negatives, including some glass-plate negatives, taken by Tom Marshall of the University of Arizona and the city of Tucson in the early years of the 20th century as well as photographs of Louise, Tom, and family and friends.

These records were generated primarily by the Department of Physical Education for Women, led by Ina Gittings from 1920-1955. The records include documents, correspondence and photographs pertaining to physical education and varsity intramural sports. National, regional, and university level athletic organizations for college women and administrators are also documented. A small segment of records detail intercollegiate athletic organizations and newspaper clippings of women’s sports competitions under the leadership of athletics administrator, Mary Roby, from 1959-1981.
