Although the collection extends from 1889 to 1951, the bulk of the material consists of Ross' short stories concerning southwestern pioneer life written between 1930 and 1950.

 Abstract:  The Fred Harvey Company Records contain a variety of archival materials pertaining to the operation of one of America's largest restaurant and resort companies. Records consist of materials from the Fred Harvey Indian Department, Grand Canyon operations, Harvey Girls, and the company public relations department. Document types include menus, brochures, statistical data, Grand Canyon Justice of the Peace and Department of Transportation records, ledgers, guest registers, press releases, articles, correspondence, art work and architectural blueprints, renderings and drawings. The collection also contains approximately 6,000 photographic images and 9 moving images.
