 Abstract:  The Ken Wolfgang collection is comprised of materials created by Ken Wolfgang in the production of travelogue and corporate films produced by his film company, Kensharo Productions which was based in Sonoita, Arizona. The Collection is comprised of prints and camera negatives of completed films, such as The Japanese Sword as the Soul of the Samurai and Austrian Reflections, as well as excess and outtake footage shot on various formats. The collection also includes photographic materials which document the production of his various travelogue films in locations such as India, Japan, Austria, and Mexico as well as images and negatives of Arizona, Tucson, and the United States. Other materials represented in the collection include promotional materials for films, scrapbooks, and artifacts such as samurai swords and traditional Japanese Ceremonial Clothing. The collection also contains materials from the production of Tucson Then and Now, an unpublished manuscript that detailed the history and development of the Tucson, Arizona region.

 Abstract:  Amanda Graham was a Tucson resident during the Arizona Territorial period, which dated from February 24, 1863 to February 14, 1912 when Arizona officially became a state. The incoming postal materials span from 1907–1910. The correspondence in this collection provides a snapshot of the life experiences of Amanda Graham, a woman living in the Arizona Territory during the early 1900s, along with those of her family and acquaintances located throughout various regions of the country. Family news, health, and crop growth are a few of the topics discussed. The collection also includes a few pieces of business correspondence, such as bills and credit notifications. From a postal history perspective, the envelopes may be of interest because of the flag cancels and Tucson Territorial backstamps.

 Abstract:  Correspondence, research materials, published and unpublished manuscripts and articles, slides, photographs, and one audio tape, primarily from 1943 to 1957, of anthropologist George C. Barker. The collection documents Barker's anthropological research into folk drama and ritual, the social functions of language, the Pachuco language of Hispanic youths, and Yaqui Indian culture and customs. A 1964 gift to the Southwest Folklore Archives from George C. Barker, Sr. Deaccessioned from the collection in 1993 were approximately 0.2 feet of duplicates and items of a personal nature. In 1996 two 11 x 14 black-and-white photographs by Alfred A. Cohn were transferred to the L. Marguerite Collier Collection, Southwest Folklore Center Manuscripts Collection MS 611. This collection is part of the Southwest Folklore Center collection. The Southwest Folklore Center was founded in 1979 after the dissolution of the University of Arizona Folklore Committee and collected information about folk communities, arts, music, and other humanities-related materials. This collection was previously SWF 004. The materials were transferred to Special Collections in 2017.

 Abstract:  Sister Monica was a member of party of Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet and traveled to Tucson to establish St. Joseph's Convent. Later she established St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. This collection is made up of a diary of railway and stage journey from St. Louis, Mo. to Tucson, Ariz., April 21, 1870-May 26, 1870, with Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet. Later it was published in part as The Trek of the Seven Sisters, Tucson, 1948.

 Abstract:  A bound volume of 67 pages comprising 26 items of correspondence between Isabel Kelly and Harold Gladwin (HSG) relating to the excavation of the Hodges Site (AZ AA:12:18 ASM), also known as Gravel Pit Ruin, in the Tucson Basin, Arizona. The correspondence spans November 1936 through May 1938 and documents in detail the progress of the excavation, including stratigraphy and ceramic analysis, house types, cremation counts, interpretation of pottery phases, and plans for post-excavation work and report preparation. Also included are a sketch of wall types, a count of decorated sherds from Stratitest C, a 20-page carbon copy of the Progress Report for 1937, and a 5-page carbon copy of sherd counts for Houses 59, 80, 81, and 83. Letters are addressed also to Edith Sangster. A bound volume of this material is filed under call number 913.791 H689 v.6. Table of contents added by Susan Lobo, Arizona State Museum Library, December 8, 1967.

This collection was previously SWF 015. The materials were transferred to Special Collections in 2017.
