programs, articles, and brochures on folk dances and music, primarily of Mexico; a
folk drama; correspondence; outlines and notes for folk dance and posadas
productions; choreography for specific dances; and photographs. These materials,
dating chiefly from 1935 through 1959, reflect Collier's interest in Mexican
folklore, especially folk dance and the tradition of las posadas, and document her
work in reviving las posadasand establishing Mexican cultural awareness at Carrillo
School. This collection was a 1977 gift to the Southwest Folklore Archives from Mrs.
Betty Sagerstrom. This collection is part of the Southwest Folklore Center
collection. The Southwest Folklore Center was founded in 1979 after the dissolution
of the University of Arizona Folklore Committee and collected information about folk
communities, arts, music, and other humanities-related materials. This collection
was previously SWF 005. The materials were transferred to Special Collections in

collection is comprised of correspondence, financial and legal documents, diaries, and
photographs relating to the lives of Louise Foucar Marshall and her husband Tom
Marshall. The bulk of the material consists of her personal correspondence and
memorabilia, property records, official documents and correspondence relating to the
Marshall Charitable Foundation, which they founded in 1930, and documents relating to
Tom's death and Louise's trial for his murder in 1931. The collection also includes a
large number of photographs and negatives, including some glass-plate negatives, taken
by Tom Marshall of the University of Arizona and the city of Tucson in the early years
of the 20th century as well as photographs of Louise, Tom, and family and

Kelly on pottery from the Hodges Site (AZ AA:12:18 ASM), a Hohokam site in the Tucson Basin, Pima County, Arizona. The manuscript covers decorated wares of the Pioneer, Colonial, and Sedentary periods, including Sweetwater Red-on-Grey, Snaketown Red-on-Brown, Canada del Oro Red-on-Brown, Rillito Red-on-Brown, Picacho Red-on-Brown, and Rincon Red-on-Brown, with figures illustrating vessel forms, designs, sherds, and interior and exterior decoration. Items marked with an asterisk (*) have been added by James Officer in his study of the manuscript; pages marked "changes to Snaketown Plates" are also Officer's work and are not part of the original manuscript.
