Also included are area ranches and local scenery. Albums included are the Iron Spring’s summer homes and Del Rio Basin Pipeline. A significant portion of the collection is negatives.

 Abstract:  The Empire Ranch Foundation (ERF) is a non-profit organization, established in 1997, that works in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to protect, restore, and sustain the historical buildings and landscapes of the Empire Ranch. The Empire Ranch was established in 1876 and has been a working cattle ranch since, owned by two pioneer families: The Vails (1876-1928) and the Boices (1928-1969). The Empire Ranch was later owned by corporations before being transfered to the Bureau of Land Management, who enforces the preservation of the historic site. In 1997, the ERF was established to help the BLM with preservation projects while also making sure the site is still accessible to the general public. The materials in this collection are from the ERF and reflect their daily operations, preservation projects, research materials, oral histories, events, and other materials. Materials remain in the original order as provided by the Empire Ranch Foundation upon their donation to Special Collections.

 Abstract:  The Kuhne–Looney Family collection contains photos, negatives, historic documents, books, correspondence, scrap books, and albums for many Prescott area families. Frank Adolph Kuhne originally came to Prescott from Germany. They lived in Navajo and Howells, Arizona. He and his wife Marie had five children; Marie, Moritz “Moe”, Frank, Helen, and Robert. This collection also has information on the John Wilson Simmons family, the Alexander Brown family, the Henry Colquette family, the Giuseppe Enrico Gardarino family and the Looney family. It also includes photos of family friends, train wrecks in Skull Valley, and documents on Territorial Arizona. Documents describing the Yavapai County Youth Center (YCYC) are included. Havasupai documents from land acquisition and Kuhne’s work in the village are also included.
