 Abstract:  Hudson Cotton Company was an Arizona cotton company founded by Estmer W. Hudson, an Arizona cotton pioneer in the early part of the 20th Century. E.W. , along with the guidance of the United States Department of Agriculture and the University of Arizona, assisted in the introduction of a new Egyptian Cotton known as Pima. This cotton strand is viewed as the most superior cotton known.

 Abstract:  This collection documents Harry M. Bracken's role as a university faculty member protesting the Vietnam War through participating in teach-ins, organizing student protest groups such as Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), writing editorials, and giving speeches. It also contains intra-university documents that highlight Bracken's involvement in actively protesting the War and resulting interactions and communications with the ASU administration. Bracken's teaching notes are also included, from a myriad of philosophy and history courses taught by him over the course of his career, as well as extensive research notes on areas of philosophy, history, syntax, activism events, and court cases associated with civil and human rights violations. The collection also contains Bracken's personal communications via letters and emails to his students, colleagues, and publishers throughout his career. While the bulk of the collection dates from the mid to late 1960s, the documents collected range from the late 1950s to the early 2000s.

Shantz's various trips to Africa resulted in extensive field notes, including those for the Smithsonian African Expedition, 1919 to 1920, and the African Education Commission, 1923 to 1924. Background material he collected about Africa encompasses maps; postcards; dictionaries and primers on languages, including Swahili; also, articles on the people, the areas they inhabited, and specific problems, such as the tsetse fly, sleeping sickness, forced labor, and race relations. Photographs of his travels from the Cape to Cairo depict the Nile, Egyptian ruins, wild and domestic animals, vegetation and the landscape, villages and cities, and people in tribal dress. Communal activities documented include cultivation, thatching roofs, building a road, and weaving a large bamboo mat to cover a bridge walkway.

Included are signatures of 72 secretaries of the U.S. Treasury, dated from 1817 to 1872; 40 U.S. Senators, dated January 1867; Joseph Hooker, E.S. Parker, George G. Meade, John Rawlins, W.S. Hancock, F.V. Hayden, Vinnie Ream, John Wesley Powell, and various others in professional and public service
