The photographs, ranging from 1946 to the late 1990s comprise, nearly half of the collection, including many aerial photographs of Glen Canyon in the 1950s.  Abstract:  Rosa Ronquillo Rhodes (1894-1982) was the postmistress on a ranch in Redington, Arizona (Pima County) from 1922-1936. Of Mexican descent, she was the first child in her family to become literate, and held a position that was central to the ranching community in which she lived. This collection of photographs, postcards, postal documents, and an oral history by her daughter portrays her life as a postmistress, as well as offers a glimpse into ranch life in rural Arizona during that period.

 Abstract:  Richard Cunningham McCormick was the second governor of the Arizona Territory. In addition, he was a three-term delegate to Congress from Arizona, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, New York delegate to Congress, Commissioner General to the Paris Exposition of 1878, and three-time delegate to the National Convention, among others. Margaret Hunt McCormick was Richard McCormick’s first wife, married to him while he served as Governor of Arizona. She was much-beloved by the citizens of the Territory and deeply mourned upon her untimely death at the age of 24. This collection includes correspondence, Margaret’s journal, photographs, editions of the Young Men’s Magazine for which Richard McCormick was an editor, information regarding the McCormick’s marriage and deaths, and a scrapbook containing material regarding Margaret McCormick’s home in New Jersey, her family, and burial information.

Two earlier registers from the Spanish Colonial Period document baptisms, marriages and burials from the missions of Tubac and Calabasas-Tumacacori under the administrative supervision of the Diocese of Durango (1620-1778) and the Diocese of Sonora (1779-1829).

 Abstract:  This collection contains materials documenting the Riggs pioneer family history from the time Brannick Riggs married Mary Elizabeth Robbins in Texas in 1856, their first wagon train move to Colorado in 1871, and several years later relocating again to southeastern Arizona, arriving and settling in Sulphur Springs Valley in 1879. Their eighth child, John Casey Riggs (1874-1943), was the family’s historian and creator of the bulk of the papers. The collection includes Our El Dorado, a biographical book written by John C. Riggs and his daughter, Jeanette Riggs Roll. Also included in the collection are biographical manuscripts; diaries and journals; business and personal correspondence; business records and ledgers; printed materials, including pamphlets, catalogs, newspapers and clippings; homestead land and mine patents; political papers of John Casey Riggs; maps; and photographs and negatives.
